We began with heritage
For over two decades, we have invested in and restored buildings and sites across London, Glasgow, Berlin and Melbourne.
Victorian terraces, sandstone offices and heritage shopfronts taught us something that informs every project we undertake: how a building meets the ground determines how it is used, how it endures, and how it is valued over time.
When we turned to new development, we brought these lessons with us.
As developers, our role is to make decisions that hold commercially, physically and over time.
That means delivering buildings that respond to their setting, are built to endure, and create long-term value for those who live in them.
Every Croft project begins with place research.
Before we commit to a project, we understand the place.
We walk the area at different times of day to understand how it is used. We assess the existing built form - scale, setbacks and rhythm - and how buildings sit within the street.
We analyse orientation, light and views. We document the prevailing material language and construction approach. We identify what works, and why.
We speak with residents to understand what is valued and where there is unmet need.
This work informs the key decisions: what to build, how much to build, and how it should be delivered.
